Port Recovery
Port Recovery currently operates eight recover houses in the Hamilton area of Baltimore City. Our program provides a structured, clean and safe environment for recovering addicts and alcoholics. Here, a person can learn to live and function without the use of drugs and alcohol. We offer the opportunity to recover from active addiction by helping our clients become responsible, productive members of society. At Port Recovery we offer a "wrap-around" concept which includes a variety of programs: Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse counseling, licensed DWI / DUI Program, and our own Mental Health Group for various types of therapy. Additional services we provide: Medication Delivery Program: Port Recovery has arrangements with local Finks Pharmacy for the free delivery of medications to house residents. On-Site Weekly 12-Step Meetings: Each of our homes has a weekly 12-step mandatory meeting. While sometimes we invite guest speakers, we also have discussions on relevant topics. It's up to the house to choose their preferred format. Spiritual Meetings: Meetings are held weekly at each house and conducted by community spiritual leaders. It's important to understand this is NOT a RELIGIOUS meeting and only spiritual in nature. Court / Probation / Parole: Port Recovery will work with any parole, probation or detention department in any jurisdiction for sentencing alternatives (i.e., home detention, sentencing to the program, drug court referrals) Port Recovery also works closely with several attorneys and can refer clients if necessary. We believe that a person's self-esteem is directly related to their surroundings. That is why all of the houses are newly-remodeled with central air / heat, cable TV, telephones, washer / dryer and fully equipped kitchens. Port Recovery offers you the opportunity to continue on your journey of recovery from addiction, by becoming a responsible, productive member of society while living in a safe, drug-free environment. Homecoming Project
Homecoming Project is an eight bed, state certified half-way house for women recovering from alcohol and substance abuse. The mission of Homecoming Project is to provide women with a comprehensive, family-oriented program of recovery from homelessness and substance abuse in a supportive residential environment. Group Therapy: The long-term program at Homecoming is intended to help the women cope with the problems of everyday life without relying on drugs and alcohol.
The following are the modules selected for the weekly group sessions: Improving Self-Esteem; Emotions & Feelings; Relationships; Spirituality; Recovery; Relapse. Individual counseling is offered on a bi-weekly basis to each resident. A treatment plan is developed based on this assessment and will be updated throughout the client’s stay. Homecoming Project recognizes that addiction is a disease that impacts the entire family and provides families with valuable information and resources at the time of the resident's intake. Additionally, we do invite family members to visit on Saturday and Sunday. Residents may also be approved for day, overnight, and weekend passes. Local professionals in the arts of yoga and acupuncture provide much needed pain and stress management alternatives to support clients in the recovery process. We model our program from the principles taught in Alcoholics Anonymous, such as honesty, willingness, and acceptance.
Homecoming requires the residents to attend one meeting daily for 90 days. They are also expected to connect with a sponsor and begin working the 12 steps with their sponsor’s guidance. Access to physical recreation is essential to the well being of clients as they work to address addiction issues, maintain good health and learn to make better lifestyle choices. With help from Homecoming’s dedicated staff, certified addiction counselor and partner agencies, each of our residents will exit the cycle of poverty, helplessness and addiction to rejoin her community as a healthy, productive citizen. For more information please contact Homecoming Project.

Integrative Counseling
Integrative Counseling is a State of Maryland Certified Substance Treatment Facility offering a broad range of educational and treatment services for adults and teens in a safe non-judgmental environment. Most teens / adolescents are not addicted to substances, though an addictive potential or family history may influence a teen's use. While Integrative Counseling discusses the effects of substances on a teens' life, we also address other areas usually suffering as a result of the use or causing the use. These issues might include family problems, communication or peer problems, school or learning difficulties, or legal concerns. Most adolescents who abuse substances have stopped maturing and may be making decisions at a 10- or 12-year-old level. We offer five levels of education or treatment for kids and teens using or abusing substances. We place kids in groups with other kids having similar difficulties. Teens may attend group or individual counseling or both. Parents are encouraged to schedule family sessions or parent-only sessions to discuss how to best help your child. Integrative Counseling offers group, individual, and family treatment for Substance Abuse. Maryland Certified to offer Outpatient Treatment, as well as, DWI / DUI education to address legal concerns following a DUI / DWI. For DUI / DWI specific information, please see our DUI / DWI page. Groups are offered most days of the week and at different times of the day to meet most schedules. Clients most often choose one particular group time as a "Regular Group", but may attend different times or days as schedules change. Just call your therapist or let them know you'll be attending a different time. We try to make this as easy as possible to meet your needs. Clients may also choose to attend multiple days per week to meet their needs. Integrative Counseling is pleased to work with two psychiatrists who offer Suboxone or Buprenorphine medication management to manage withdrawal from opiate drugs such as over the counter pain medications or illegal opiate drugs. For more information please contact Integrative Counseling.
