Northwest Community Healthcare Mental Health Services
Northwest Community Healthcare Mental Health Services: NCH’s adult inpatient program is designed for individuals 18 and older, who are in acute crisis due to a wide range of psychiatric and emotional problems. Treatment is first focused on stabilizing the most urgent symptoms and then gradually transitioning to less intensive care. We believe in a multi-faceted approach to treatment—encompassing the biological, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of recovery. In addition, we actively involve the patient and his or her family in all aspects of the treatment process (as permitted by the patient). NCH’s adolescent unit treats all aspects of mental health including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD and behavior problems. We have the nation’s first inpatient School Refusal Program. This specialized program is designed for children who have difficulty going to or staying at school. These children may complain of physical symptoms such as headaches and stomachaches, have nightmares, or complaints of fear or heightened anxiety. They may make plans to go back to school but are simply unable to comply and may even become depressed or physically aggressive. The Youth Center at Northwest Community Hospital is the only private residential treatment program in the Chicago and area for adolescents, offering family-centered care from experienced professionals. Through a highly structured, interdisciplinary team approach, we help adolescents learn a new way of living and relating to others. We invite you to visit our facilities and learn more about our various programs and services. Assessments are free of charge. We also do drug screening, if required.
