Granada House
Granada House has a long, proud history of successfully helping people at that moment of discovery learn to live free from addiction. Our residents find the safe, stable environment that offers recovery within the caring, familial environment that is our trademark. We place a strong emphasis on welcoming residents with disabilities, though our residents form a true mosaic of life, from all cultures and walks of life. We are a family; one that exists to help residents realize for themselves the potential within themselves and their lives after addiction. Finding with them the person they were, and the person they are yet to become, free of addiction. The Granada House Women’s Support Group is divided into two segments. The first four week segment is required of all women new to Granada House. Here they learn the rules of the house and the basic ABCs of recovery. Women close to graduation also attend, as facilitators foster a kinship, a give and take between those new to sobriety and those who are ready to leave the house living sober lives. The Granada House Men’s Support Group takes on a duel role. For newcomers, it is the mandatory meeting that provides clear understanding of the rules of the House, the foundation from which participants can build as they move along the road to recovery, participants engage ‘old-timers’ in addressing questions and concerns within the house. During each week of their stay, residents of Granada House receive individual counseling. Several areas of progress are addressed with each meeting: progress in developing a program of recovery, progress in group and individual therapy, psychological and social progress and adherence to medical, dental and other appointments. Counselors also discuss drug and alcohol, medical, legal, psychological and family histories. For more information please contact Granada House.

Boston Public Health Commission Addiction Services
Boston Public Health Commission Addiction Services: The City of Boston has a robust system of care for individuals, families, and communities affected by substance abuse. At the Boston Public Health Commission, we work to make sure this system is as easy to navigate as possible for those that need our support. In partnership with an excellent network of community-based providers throughout the city, we offer programs and resources aimed at preventing addictions and supporting the treatment and recovery of those impacted by substance abuse. We led the way in making Narcan, a drug used to reverse opiate overdoses, accessible to bystanders, saving hundreds of lives. We pioneered a needle exchange program to reduce risks for active users. We worked with the Boston Police Department and community partners to install drug take back kiosks at police stations that allow people to anonymously dispose of unused medications so that they aren’t misused. And our outpatient and residential treatment programs serve clients with a diverse set of needs in multiple languages. We are committed to helping you and your loved ones navigate the road to recovery. For more information please contact Boston Public Health Commission Addiction Services.

Gloucester ANGEL Initiative
Gloucester ANGEL Initiative: For Addicts and their Friends, Families, and Caregivers. Are you addicted to heroin, opioids, or other drugs? Know someone who is? It’s time to get help. The Gloucester Police Department has created a revolutionary new policing program aimed at getting addicts the help they need, instead of putting them in handcuffs. How does it work? If an addict comes into the Gloucester Police Department and asks for help, an officer will take them to the Addison Gilbert Hospital, where they will be paired with a volunteer “ANGEL” who will help guide them through the process. We have partnered with more than a dozen additional treatment centers to ensure that our patients receive the care and treatment they deserve — not in days or weeks, but immediately. If you have drugs or drug paraphernalia on you, we will dispose of it for you. You will not be arrested. You will not be charged with a crime. You will not be jailed. All you have to do is come to the police station and ask for help. We are here to do just that. For more information please contact the Gloucester ANGEL Initiative program.

The Gavin Foundation
The Gavin Foundation is a multi-service agency providing comprehensive, community-based substance abuse treatment, education, and prevention. We serve more than 5,000 individuals each year through our adult, youth and community programs. The Gavin Foundation works from a deep commitment to the community, including the widespread community of individuals and families in recovery. The Gavin Foundation operates more than a dozen adult and youth programs independently or in collaboration with other agencies. The Gavin Foundation recognizes that youth affected by drug and alcohol use face special challenges in building their recovery capacity. Their substance misuse undermines adolescent and young adult tasks of building support networks, defining values which guide life choices, and taking on greater responsibilities for self-care. Family relationships are damaged and educational losses undermine employment opportunities. To respond to these needs, Gavin Foundation has established specialized adolescent residential, community, educational and diversion programs. Residential Programs: The Gavin House is a residential treatment program for adult men seeking to recover from effects of alcohol and drug abuse. The Cushing Houses provide stabilizing residential treatment for substance abusing young men and women age 16-20 who can function in the community and who have family or guardians engaged in their care. The Graduate Centers provide longer term residential support in the recovery process. Center for Recovery Services offers assessment and individual and group outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with substance use, abuse and addiction. Devine Recovery Center The DRC is a welcoming environment for individuals in recovery, age 18 and up. The center’s mission is to provide a place of support and recreation for persons in recovery from various types of addiction. For more information please contact The Gavin Foundation.

Addiction Treatment Center of New England
Addiction Treatment Center of New England, ATCNE is a clinically operated drug treatment program, designed to provide a safe and therapeutic environment so that clients may gain control over their drug problems and learn alternatives to their addictive behaviors. Methadone services are an effective treatment for narcotic dependence. The administration of methadone helps clients cease illicit narcotic use and begin the process of recovery and abstinence from all drug use. However, outpatient methadone treatment is not always sufficient to achieve this goal. It is the responsibility of ATCNE staff to determine which clients can benefit from outpatient methadone treatment. The policies described in this manual are designed by the administrative, medical, nursing and clinical staffs to help clients realize these and other treatment goals. The Addiction Treatment Center of New England also provides an outpatient treatment program designed specifically for individuals whom are being treated for opiate addiction with Suboxone. The full program is designed to operate in cooperation with the prescribing doctor, and works to promote recovery principles and support through group and individual therapy. Individual, group, couples and / or family therapy is available to clients who have problems with drugs, but are not in need of methadone detoxification or maintenance. For more information please contact Addiction Treatment Center of New England.
